Benzac AC 5% Wash delivers benzoyl peroxide, the best-evidenced over-the-counter acne treatment, in a rinse-off wash, which makes it the practical way to treat acne over large areas such as the back, chest and shoulders and a gentler option for facial skin that finds leave-on gels too drying. Even in the one to two minutes it stays on the skin, benzoyl peroxide reduces the Cutibacterium acnes bacteria that drive inflamed spots, and because it is rinsed off, dryness and irritation are much lower than with the gel. Used once or twice daily in the shower it reduces inflamed acne within weeks, does not lead to bacterial resistance, and pairs with an oil-free moisturiser and sunscreen.

Body acne is hard to treat with a gel because you cannot reach your back and the areas are large, and facial skin sometimes finds the gel too harsh. A benzoyl peroxide wash treats the back and chest in the shower and gives sensitive faces the same active with far less dryness.
