Chela-Fer Syrup brings the same gentle iron bisglycinate as Chela-Fer tablets to children. It is well absorbed, less likely to cause constipation or tummy ache, and does not have the harsh metallic taste of older iron syrups. Without enough iron the body cannot make enough haemoglobin, so less oxygen reaches muscle and brain. The result is tiredness, breathlessness on exertion and poor concentration.

Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency in South African children and affects concentration and growth. Rapid growth, picky eating and too much cow's milk all put children at risk, and restoring iron improves energy, appetite and attention.
