ENO is the classic fruit salt: sodium bicarbonate and citric acid that fizz together in water to make a fast-acting alkaline drink. It neutralises stomach acid on contact, typically easing heartburn, acid indigestion and that overfull, gassy feeling within minutes, and the released gas helps bring up trapped wind.
