Citro-Soda is the pharmacy-counter standard for the burning, stinging urination of early cystitis. Its effervescent citrate and bicarbonate salts alkalinise the urine, taking the acid sting out of each trip to the bathroom while high fluid intake does the real work of flushing the bladder. It is symptom relief, honestly framed: it makes the wait for the body, or for antibiotics, bearable rather than treating infection itself, and it is also traditionally used to alkalinise urine in gout management.
